Lore tells us that the all father, Odin chief god of the Asgardian pantheon , in his search for knowledge and wisdom hung himself from the world tree Yggdrasil. For nine days Odin hung upside down beset by hunger , thirst, and wounded. His blood falling down into the eternal sea, and when he could bare no more he gaze down into those abyssal waters and saw there the runes glowing like fire upon its surface. With the last of his strength he reached out and grasped the runes into his hands holding them fast as he fell. 

His ordeal over, the all father would bring the sacred runes and share them ,not only with the gods, but with mortal man as well. In this way Odin gave the runes we call the Elder Futhark to man. Now you can also share in the All Fathers gift and wisdom with your own set of this runic oracle.
